8 Treats to satisfy your cravings when 8 months pregnant
Tamarind with ice cream, cake batter straight from the bowl, or mangoes with cucumber, these may not sound exactly like gourmet food items, but ask a pregnant woman, she would swear by these. Pregnancy cravings are a fact and every woman deals with them, either by curbing or giving in. The cravings in the last trimester of pregnancy can, however, take a toll on to-be mothers. By the time you’re 8 months pregnant, either you’re tired of curbing all your cravings or are tired of giving into them, taking guilt trips way too frequently. If you’re either one of them, then here are some healthier substitutes that you can give into, without feeling guilty about any:
Soda and Soft Drinks
: Soda can be extremely harmful for you, remember you aren’t your usual self, you are 8 months pregnant. When craving for soft drinks or soda, have water diluted with concentrated fruit juice or a squeeze of lemon and salt.
: You can satisfy your pizza craving by using a whole wheat crust, topping it with lots of roasted veggies, and very little parmesan cheese. You can also add flaxseeds to the crust to make it healthier.
Fried chicken: Avoid Fried chicken at all costs, and bake the chicken instead, coating it with crunchy bread crumbs. Yum!
French fries: Try baking sweet potato or carrot slices and savour them with sea salt. You’ll never crave for potato fries again!
