Umbilical Cord Collection

THE ONLY BANKING RULE IS THE MYCORD POOL

Umbilical Cord Collection

Whether it’s a normal birth or C-section, the process of collecting the umbilical cord is a simple procedure that will not harm the mother, baby or the birthing process.

After the baby is born, the umbilical cord is clamped and cut. That is when the delivering specialist will collect the remaining blood, which is otherwise discarded. The umbilical cord will then be placed in a sterile storage tray. From start to finish, the cord blood collection process takes a few minutes.
